Elite Design Award 2024 : Modern Heritage

Elite Design Award 2024

For the seventh edition of its "Elite Design Awards", Elite has chosen the theme of MODERN HERITAGE. This year’s challenge was a big one: revisiting the "Chloé" bed, the firm’s legendary best-seller, modernising it whilst retaining its core ethos. All three winners achieved this delicate task in style.

The jury has spoken, choosing the models that best embody a contemporary vision of Elite’s top-selling Chloé bed from among 175 entries from 50 different countries. For decades, the Chloé bed has been the symbol of Elite’s excellence and expertise in upholstery. Its padded quilted headboard, carefully selected filling and delicate stitching deliver an incomparable sense of comfort and a subtle interplay of highlights, resulting in a stunning array of visual effects.

Joanna Furmanowicz

First prize: Joanna Furmanowicz and her majestic Comodo bed

Polish designer Joanna Furmanowicz unveiled Cómodo, featuring smaller square cushioning than on the original Chloé bed, integrated into an angular oak frame that contrasts with the gentle lines ofthe artisanal padded quilting. Meanwhile the partial base adds a lighter touch and a unique visual aspect. The simple, understated lines recall Nordic minimalism, focusing on the essentials: maximum comfort without unnecessary flourishes and trimmings. It’s as if Joanna Furmanowicz has brought her home country to life in her warm, characterful creation.
